Entering the season, there was one definite star on Prospect’s football team—senior quarterback Miles Osei.  In the past few weeks, however, the spotlight has grown to include junior Peter Bonahoom as well, whose record-breaking 355-yard performance last week against Elk Grove earned him recognition from the Daily Herald, which selected him as the offensive leader of the week.
This week, both stars had occasion to shine in a 54-15 win against a struggling Wheeling team that has gone win-less so far in the East (2-6 overall).
Bonahoom was a threat whenever he was on the field, rushing for four touchdowns, catching another, and punctuating the performance with a fumble

recovery for his sixth and final score.
“I love watching [Bonahoom],” Osei said.  “It’s a lot of fun just to watch him run.”
Osei also had a big game, passing for 305 yards and a touchdown.  He also ran for another touchdown.
“[Now], other teams have [also] realized everybody is a threat,” Osei said.
Despite the Wildcats’ record, the Knights (7-1 overall, 3-1 in conference) again proved adept at keeping their intensity during games, just as they did when they shut out Hersey.
“We didn’t take Wheeling lightly,” Osei said.  “We wanted to make sure guys were playing full speed.  We went out and did just that.”
The Knights, according to Bonahoom, also took the opportunity to test some of the second-string players during the second half.  One of them, sophomore quarterback Teddy Ford, scored the final touchdown of the game on a 44-yard run.
All eyes now turn to the Knights’ game against Rolling Meadows (6-2 overall, 4-0 in the East) on Friday, where, with a win, Prospect has a chance to grab a share of the East title.  The Knights, however, will be playing towards a more important goal: home-field advantage during the playoffs.
“We want to go into the [postseason] 8-1 and improve our chances of having three straight home games [in the playoffs],” Osei said.
