Kuni T-shirt giveaway

T-shirt will be given away Wednesday, Oct. 21, in the cafeteria at 3 p.m. to all KUNI pledges

KUNI (Knights Under No Influence Club) will be giving away T-shirts in the cafeteria on Wednesday, Oct. 21 from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m.

In order to receive a free T-shirt, students must listen to a guest speaker, social studies teacher John Camardella, and sign the KUNI pledge to remain drug and alcohol free.

In addition to the annual pledge, KUNI is celebrating Red Ribbon Week.  Red Ribbon Week is an annual drug prevention campaign to remind people, specifically students, to remain drug free.  To celebrate, the KUNI board decorated the front of the school with red ribbons, along with every-other locker on the first floor.

KUNI pledge day intentionally falls on Red Ribbon Week every year at Prospect because both campaigns represent decisions that often face high school students.

This year, Camardella was chosen to speak because, according to KUNI leader Nicole Warren, many students “admire him as a person, teacher, and coach.  He’s a good influence.”
KUNI, according to Warren, is an important part of Prospect because it reminds students that, in the words of this year’s T-shirt…
Yesterday is a memory,
Tomorrow is a dream,
Today is the reality,
Make the most of it.
