The girls’ golf team escaped unhurt from a shaky performance at regionals today, placing third behind Barrington and St. Viator, both of whom they had beaten twice each during the regular season. Since they placed in the top three, the Knights will still be able to continue on to sectionals.

“Everyone kind of played really bad,” senior Terese Geraghty said. “We all had a rough day.”

After originally tying for first place with scores of 345, Viator beat out Barrington when the results from their fifth-place girls were counted (normally, only the scores of the top four golfers on each team are counted).

Prospect, led by sophomore Christine Garmoe’s score of 83, followed with a team score of 353.
