This coming fall, we plan on traveling to the 2025 National High School Journalism Convention in Nashville, Tennessee, where we'll learn from professionals and get better at what we do: making the best multimedia student journalism in the state. If you've ever found anything of worth on this website, please consider donating to offset the cost.

Locked Out the Back

Last week, Dean Nicholas Olson stated that starting Monday, Sept. 27 the Forest Avenue Gate will be closed from 9 AM to 2 PM. Meaning that drivers will not be able to enter and exit on Forest Avenue during those times of the day when the gate is closed.
He said that this was due to safety concerns in that area of the school. He went on further and explained that on Forest Avenue near the gate there were complaints of speeding and hazardous driving.
“It’s easier to monitor and regulate one entrance/exit than two,” Olson said.
Olson hopes that closing the gate will make the community safer as a whole.
