Cam Kalaway – Cross Country

Q: Where did you commit and for what sport?

A: “The University of Iowa for cross country and track.”

Q: What led you to make this decision to play a sport in college?

A: “I feel like I’ve grown up in cross country and track and I’ve met some of my best friends through the sport. I love having the team and I love the sport in general. I know I would miss it if I didn’t do it in college, and I feel like it’s definitely part of my life at this point.”

Q: Why did you choose this college?

A: “When I visited the team, I felt like I could definitely just see myself being a part of it. I love the Iowa campus and the distance from home I feel like it’s like, far enough but not too close.”

Q: What are you looking forward to about playing a sport in college next year?

A: “I’m looking forward to being part of a team, making some of my best friends, being able to compete at the next level, and continue to have fun with it.”

Q: Who do you have to thank for helping you on this journey for your athletic career?

A: “I have my friends to thank for making this sport something that I really enjoy. Definitely my coaches Wintermute, Trell, and Johnson because they have given me such great opportunities during high school. My family of course, for always supporting me.”
