Best Buddies, Girls’ Basketball Win Big Against Rolling Meadows

January 26, 2022

On Tuesday January 11th, the girls’ basketball team defeated Rolling Meadows 60-51. Leading scorer for the Knights, Summer Srodulski, finished with a career high of 25 points in one game.

“I knew my teammates trusted me and that’s all I needed to turn that switch on,” said Srodulski.

During half time, the crowd got even louder as the Best Buddies players came onto the court to play in the basketball game they had been training for. These students are a part of the U-Rise program at Prospect that gives kids with specific needs the assistance they need.

With 4 players on each team, and several Prospect boys basketball players, this game was extremely special.

“It was super a lot of fun. … I almost made a 3-pointer,” said white-team player Tommy Heil.
