The Lampoon
Why did I write the Lampoon? That has been the question I’ve been asking since November when I first saw the Prospect Lampoon from an old Prospector article from 1986. The Lampoon in a nutshell is a work of fiction created off of fake points that quite simply didn’t happen at Prospect. There is no Student Congress, Parking Validation, or even a flag football team going to state. (Though we should have a flag football team)
So the other important question that should be asked is, “Why would you waste your time writing stories that simply don’t matter?” Well, there is one big answer that has kept me up all night thinking and wondering what the solution to this difficult problem would be.
Finally, I have found the solution to this impossible question and here is the most important question of this question forever, and it is………………………………………………………………… APRIL FOOLS! Well, it’s a bit past April Fools but let’s just pretend that it is the First of April.
I hope you had a laugh reading these beautiful works of fiction and remember that they are NOT REAL, so please just remember that while reading them. So while I go and get a jump start on my Prospector resignation letter in response to the lampoon, have fun this April Fools and just remember it’s not my fault if there are protests in the hallways, I 100% did not write that part into the lampoon! VIVA LA LAMPOON!
