Video: Make your own Shamrock Shake

With St. Patrick’s Day quickly approaching on March 17,  it’s time to scramble to McDonalds for a Shamrock Shake. Alas, the shakes do not last forever because, the chain usually pulls them off the menu after the holiday.  Students are then left to pine for the minty, sugary treat for the next year.
Luckily, though, the Prospector is here to save the day with a recipe to make the shake year round. Who said that one can not enjoy the faux Irish drink in the heat of August, before a Sept. football game or after winter break sleigh ride?
That’s just undemocratic.
So, to fulfill your green tinted shake needs either read the recipe or watch the video bellow
Ingredients:
1 ¼   cups 2% low fat milk or soy milk
2 cups vanilla ice cream
¼ teaspoon mint extract
8 drops green food coloring
Steps:

  1. Combine ingredients in a blender
  2. Blend on high until smooth
  3. Stir out extra ice cream lumps
  4. Pour into two 12 oz. cups
  5. Finish off with whipped cream and a cherry
