My take: At one point or another, we all, at the back of our heads, have thought about how someone with authority may or may not be monitoring our activity on the internet. With online privacy often in the midst of debate, incidents like this confirm that something as simple as a 140-character-or-less tweet can really land you in some hot water. That can make even the most prudent internet users a little paranoid. The moral of the story is that there’s some logic to when your parents constantly warn you that what you post online is accessible to more people than you think.
