The second annual Mt. Prospect Oktoberfest is set to take place Sat, Oct. 17 in downtown Mt. Prospect from 4 to 10 pm. It will begin promptly after the fall festival.
Oktoberfest is slated to have numerous features this year. On Emerson Street, food vendors will sell an assortment of food and beverages. In the Chase Bank parking lot, a large tent will be set up where people can sit down, relax and listen to live music by authentic German band, Phenix.
Public Information Officer Maura El Metennani sees Oktoberfest as a very meaninful celebration for the village.
“It’s important for Mt. Prospect because Mt. Prospect was founded by German immigrants and I think it is a good way to get people out and together in Mt. Prospect,” said Metennani.
