I’ve been reconsidering this editorial for a little while, and what it comes down to is that I don’t want Prospect to get hurt by our anger about PARCC. I received an email from the principal confirming that school funding can be harmed by our opting out and also informing me that she is currently working with politicians to improve testing. She said she had some of the same worries as us, and that reassured me that this isn’t about trying to suppress the opt out movement. I wanted the article taken down because I didn’t want other people to be mislead by it.
