It was announced on Sunday that after Prospect community members donated $10,000 worth of grocery gift cards on March 16, the school hopes to continue its efforts in assisting families struggling with food insecurity because of the outbreak of coronavirus.
However, after the implementation of the Shelter-In-Place Order, Associate Principal Kara Kendrick noted that many more people who felt secure about their jobs two weeks ago, “no longer feel that way.”
People interested in helping out are encouraged to purchase a gift card that can be used at Jewel from Amazon or in store and to mail it to the Prospect.
“Many families need support given the current circumstances we find ourselves in,” Kendrick said.
