Buddy the Elf said it best: “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear”

Click below to experience the Prospect Madrigals dinner.

  • Sunday Dec. 12 marked the annual madrigals dinner. The dinner is a Christmas tradition dating back to 16th century England.

  • Senior Luiza Zanon reads a note that was sent to her. Members of the Madrigals were dressed in traditional renaissance clothing seated at a candle lit long table.

  • As a part of the dinner notes were exchanged between Madrigals and members of the audience.

  • Notes were sealed in wax then stamped close.

  • Seniors Jeongmin Lee and Olivia Macina read a delivered note. Besides the letters there were other many traditions on this night back in history.

  • Anna Parisi (Left) announcers the arrival of the Boars head.

  • The Boars head is used to symbolize peace and prosperity.

  • But the Madrigals dinner had plenty of singing as well.

  • After dinner, The Madrigals went around to each table singing songs and bringing up the Christmas spirt.

  • Prospect senior Sylvia Merz looks into the packed Metropolis Banquet hall in downtown Arlington Heights

  • The Madrigals finished off the night with a hush. Singing silent night to end a magical performance.
