Natalie Kronforst is a biology teacher at Prospect. It is her first year teaching at Prospect. In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, we interviewed her to ask her questions about her time as a teacher. Check back in tomorrow, we’ll be posting our Q+A with Michael Higdon, a teacher at Prospect, to conclude or Teacher Appreciation Week Q+A’s.
Q: “Have you taught anywhere before?”
A: “Yeah, I used to teach middle school in Berwyn and then I taught at GraysLake North High School.”
Q: “What’s one of your favorite teaching memories?”
A: “After, I’d say the first day of school here, I just felt like my first class period just gave you the feels. I remember they were social, and talkative and they were engaging. I just remembered after coming back, after being gone like thirteen years from teaching, they were the reason I was coming back.”
Q: “Would you say that was your favorite teaching moment including other schools as well?”
A: “I would say probably not. At my last school, before I had kids, I used to coach [track] too. I feel like having those connections was huge, and I miss not being able to do that now- but I have to go home to my own children. However, probably my biggest memory is just after leaving my past school, and just going back and getting so excited and the kids getting so excited to see each other again.”
Q: “What did you used to coach?”
A: “So I used to coach track. So when I did that, and just seeing the kids then after I moved and I came back with my daughter- I had her after I left- and everyone was just so excited and it was like a family reunion. It was really cool.”
