Baseball program holds clinic to fundraise

The boys’ baseball team will be traveling to Florida this spring break to play against teams across the U.S. To help fundraise for the trip the team held a baseball clinic for younger boys on Mar. 8.
The clinic was open to boys in grades K-8 and around 150 boys showed up. The Prospect baseball players led the clinic focusing on fielding, pitching, and hitting.
This is the first time the baseball program has done a clinic like this in seven or eight years. Head coach Ross Giusti was happy with the turnout and overall outcome of the event.
“[The clinic] has been a tremendous success,” said Giusti. “There’s been a lot of cooperation between parents, players and coaches. Everybody really chipped in and contributed and we’re really happy with it.”
Junior Jake Aumuller is on the team and also believes the clinic was both a success for the kids and the team. He is excited for his trip to Florida and to be able to play with kids from across the country.
“[The clinic] sets the tone and gets everyone off to a good mode to be playing baseball in good weather,” Giusti said.
