Upcoming: First Round of IHSA Playoffs at Prospect High School November 1 @7 p.m.
Preview: George Gattas Memorial Stadium will be home to a playoff game for the first time since 2012. Led by a high powered offense that set a new season points per game record at Prospect, the team finished 7-2 (3-2). The Knights are a 14 seed, and will be facing the 19th seeded Dekalb (6-3).
Girls Cross Country
Upcoming Round: Sectionals at Busse Woods on November 2 @10 a.m.
Recap: Led by two freshman and a junior, the team finished first at Regionals. Freshman Cam Kalaway ran a time of 18:27.0, junior Annika Erickson ran a time of 18:27.6, and her freshman sister Hailey Erickson ran a time of 18:33.2. These times placed them in fourth, fifth and eighth place overall.
Boys Cross Country
Upcoming Round: Sectionals at Busse Woods on November 2 @11:15 a.m.
Recap: The team comfortably advanced to Sectionals, finishing third out of a required finish in the top six to advance. Erik Snell placed first for the Knights at Regionals and fifth overall at the meet, running a time of 15:47.0.
Girls Volleyball
Upcoming Round: Regional Semifinals at Rolling Meadows High School on Oct. 29 @6:30 p.m.
Preview: The Knights are the eight seed and will face ninth seeded Niles North. Prospect finished 21-14 overall and 8-2 in conference. That 8-2 record was enough for the team to finish second in the MSL East.
Boys Soccer
Recap: After a thrilling first round upset over Niles West, the Knights fell to third seeded Evanston in the Regional Final. Prospect, led by an early Eryk Limanowka goal, forced overtime and then a penalty shootout with the sixth seeded Wolves. Jonny Keane scored the winning penalty kick that gave the team the upset.
Girls Tennis
Recap: After placing second at the conference meet, the Knights finished fourth in their Sectional. The second place finish, the best in over 10 years, was a full-team effort as the Knights had top four finishers in each flight.
Girls Golf
Recap: Girls Golf placed fourth at the Sectional meet, just one spot out of qualifying for State as a team. Kelly Kavanagh qualified individually, and finished 16th in the state. She shot a 79 round one and a 75 round two at the State meet.
Boys Golf
Recap: After placing third at Regionals, the Knights were eliminated in the Sectional round. Senior Sam Ergastolo had the best round for Prospect, shooting a score of 80. Overall, the team placed 8th at the meet.
