Going into the fourth quarter in the Feb. 26 regional semifinal against Schaumburg, Prospect trailed 46-31. But in an “all-out effort,” as described by head coach Brad Rathe on X (formerly Twitter), eight minutes of play and 24 points later, the Knights tied the game 55-55. Despite the momentum, after the fourth quarter’s final shot rimmed out, Prospect lost 63-57 in overtime. Scoring 18, senior Ben Schneider led the team, with senior Ryan Lifton and junior Colin Tucker following close behind with 13 each. The regional semifinal loss marks the end of the road for the Knights this season and the last high school game for senior Knights Jack Meilinger, Noah Hasan, Nate DeCook, Jack Skoog, Ben Schneider, Luca Shaw, Cayden Vaeth, Anthony Mansour, Ryan Lifton and Will Friar.
