The Girls swim team won their first home meet against Conant High School on September 12. On all three levels Prospect came out on top. Varsity won with 102 points over Conant’s 83, JV won with 122 points against Conant’s 58 and Frosh-Soph won with 77 points while Conant had 74.

Senior and team captain Lilly Alvey was very proud of the way they swam against Conant, especially because Conant was very good last year according to Alvey, and this is their first win of the season.

Head coach Alfonso Lopez also thought his team swam very well.

“I think across the board the girls really stepped up and swam hard. It’s nice to see that all that hard work has payed off,” Lopez said.

Moving forward from here Lopez plans to continue training hard in hopes to win the MSL East.

Alvey also thinks the team has a great chance at winning the MSL East this year because of all the young talent on the team. She also hopes that the team will be able to beat their rival John Hersey High School this year.

“We’re really coming into form and depth and top-end speed. Our girls are working extremely hard, and as a team our goal is to with the East and I’m looking forward to seeing how we can develope them to that kind of a caliber,” Lopez said.
