Q: How long have you worked for Prospect?
A: “I started in 2000. That’s 24 years.”
Q: What do you like most about working at Prospect?
A: “What I like the most is that everyone is happy with me, and I try to do the best work. Nobody complains. I like my job and try to do the best possible, and everyone’s happy.”
Q: What are you looking forward to in your retirement?
A: “I saved my money, I have my properties rented out and I’m going to tend to them.”
Q: What do you do outside of your work at Prospect?
A: “I have two jobs. I’ve worked at a restaurant for 40 years. [In] 40 years, two jobs.”
Q: I’ve talked to you once before; you were very proud of getting your kids through college; could you elaborate on that?
A: “I have two daughters; the first was born in 2002, and the second was born in 2004. The first has graduated from university, she’s studying for her master’s and has a part-time administration job at Northwest Community Hospital. The second one is in the University of [Illinois] in Springfield [in] her second year. She wants to do medicinal science.”
Q: What motivates you to work hard?
A: “My daughters and my wife. My family.”
Q: How does it make you feel to finally have more time with your family?
A: “I’m happy because I’m going to have more time with them, but I have to take care of what I have and what I’ve done because I have properties in Mexico and in California that are being rented out.”
Q: What is your favorite memory from working at Prospect?
A: “Everyone has treated me well; this is my second house. Everybody [is] happy with me.”
Q: Is there anything you’ll miss now that you won’t be working here?
A: “Yes, but I know that I’ve tried to be the best. Everyone has treated me well; I know that life goes on, and I have to move on to something else.”
