1. Jack Tobin is afraid of honeycombs, rats and ferbies.
2. One thing he is not afraid of is being politically informed. He considers himself an “excessive Fox News watcher.”
“I like it because most of the other news sources are pretty liberal but fox news is pretty balanced and gives both perspectives.”
3. Tobin wanted to study political science but his parents will not let him because they do not believe he would be able to get a job after college. Instead he is planning on studying business administration at the University of Nebraska.
4. In college he wants to join the student government and get involved with the young republicans club and plans to get more politically involved.
5. Currently he is helping out the Bob Dole campaign. Tobin is a big supporter and even donates his own money he earns from mowing lawns to the campaign. He also volunteers for the campaign in his free time.
6. Tobin hopes to later run for the House of Representatives.
7. In his free time, he likes reading political books and biographies. He says his hero is former president Ronald Reagan.
“I look up to Ronald Reagan for all that he has done for this country . I think he is one of the greatest presidents we have ever had. He ended the threat of communism and revitalized the american economy and revitalize American optimism and had people believe in America again.”
8. Aside from politics Tobin is a major football fan, he grew up watching and playing football.
9. He is an even bigger Northwestern fan. He says he got his love of Northwestern from his dad who grew up six blocks away from the university. His family holds season tickets for both Northwestern football and basketball.
10. Tobin is also a member of the Prospect Football team. He says he likes Prospect football because of what Prospect football is about, the people involved with it, the standards and expectations the program has for each individual.
“Its about fighting for your goals to the very end, giving all that you have, not giving up on yourself, believing in each other and having your teammates backs. The singleness, purpose that we are one team instead of 33 individuals.”
