Lollapalooza lineup review

Happy Lollapalooza lineup day! I’ve been refreshing my phone all day waiting for this lineup to come out and it finally has. Although I was sad to see that Charli XCX and Chappell Roan didn’t make the cut this year, I am still really happy with the setlist. This is my first year attending the festival and I am very excited. I plan on attending two days depending on the schedule, so I will have to choose wisely and this review will determine that. So lets compare the headliners!
I’ve loved Olivia Rodrigo ever since her “Driver’s License” era. I’m not surprised to see her on this list because she is already headlining big festivals such as Governer’s Ball, Bonnaroo and Glastonbury. Although she hasn’t released any new music in a while, I am curious as to what she decides to play. I am sure it will be a big production like her “GUTS” tour.
Seeing Tyler, The Creator on this list made me so so happy. I know he dropped out last minute last year so I am super duper excited to see what he has in store for us. I am assuming that he will play lots of songs from his new album “CHROMAKOPIA” and hopefully he will bring out some special guests. Knowing him from his previous shows he will throw a huge production so this is one that I will not be missing.
Thank god Sabrina Carpenter is on this list because I don’t know what I would’ve done with myself if she wasn’t. I had the privilege of seeing Sabrina Carpenter on her “Short n’ Sweet” tour in October and I am super excited to see her again. Her performances are always amazing from the songs, to the dances, to the outfits and I can not wait to see what she will come up with for Lollapalooza. She’ll most likely play songs from her new album “Short n’ Sweet” and hopefully she will play some of the songs from the deluxe version of that album because I wasn’t able to hear any of them live.
Now I’ve only listened to a little bit of RÜFÜS DU SOL but I was excited to see that him, Dom Dolla and other house music was added to the lineup. I do appreciate good club music and I am definitely interested in seeing them.
I am not the biggest country fan but I can appreciate some good country artists. I love his songs “Beautiful Crazy”, “When It Rains It Pours” and “Fast Car”. Though I don’t really think that he fits the vibe of Lollapalooza, I think if you want to hear some country music you go to Windy City Smokeout or Country Thunder. He is going to be a pass for me.
I’m going to be honest, I have never heard of Twice before. I am not a big KPOP fan but from a few listens they seem pretty good. They even have a song with Megan Thee Stallion so I am curious if they will bring her out.
I was super ecstatic when I saw A$AP Rocky on the lineup. Although he hasn’t released any new music in years I just know that his show is going to be amazing. I am curious as to if he will release any new music in 2025 and we will get to hear it at Lollapalooza. I really hope he brings out some special guests who have featured on his songs. This one is definitely a yes for me.
Obviously they have to include a classic rock band into the lineup. I have heard some of their songs before and I am sure that there will be a huge audience for them.
I almost screamed when I saw that Gracie Abrams was going to be performing at Lollapalooza. I was introduced to Gracie Abrams because she opened for Taylor Swift on some parts of “The Eras Tour” and I completely fell in love with her music. After watching so many videos of her performing live, I am super excited to see her at Lollapalooza. I love her voice and songwriting and I just can’t wait to watch.
I was introduced to Doechii this year and I am in love with her songwriting. Her lyrics really tell a story and I love how creative her music really is. It is nothing like I’ve heard before. She 1000% deserved Best Rap Album at the Grammys this year. I can’t wait to see what kind of production she’s going to produce, I already know it’s going to be amazing.
