The girls’ basketball team capped off four tremendous victories at the Lyons Tournament, winning the round-robin competition for the third year in a row.
Starting on Saturday Nov. 21 and continuing through the week, the team defeated each of their opponents by at least ten points, save for their game versus Lyons. According to senior Alexis Glennon, each game was a distinct win.
In their first game against West Chicago, the girls overcame the Wildcats with a score of 42-32. The team went on to defeat Queen of Peace and Lyons, beating them 62-51 and 60-54, respectively. To finish off the tournament, the girls dominated the Mustangs by 15 points, winning 49-34.
“It’s a nice tournament to win in the beginning of the season,” Glennon said. “Hopefully we’ll be good from here.”
A few days before the Lyons Tournament, the team kicked off their season well at Libertyville, prevailing 56-42. The team’s next game is Tuesday Dec. 1 at home against Hoffman Estates.
“[The Lyons Tournament] was a really good way to start off conference games … we got to play a lot of games and get our thing down,” junior Sarah Winans said. “It’s nice coming off a high note going into [our tough conference games].” We play better with every game.”
