Like senior Christina Brucci’s 3 point shots Elk Grove saw their lead fade away in the final minutes of the 4 quarter as the Knights rallied to a 44-40 vicotry over the Grenadiers.
The Knights trailed throughout much of the game but when Grenadier Diamnd Boyd fouled out,  senior Christina Brucci knew that they were still in the game.
“The main thing about this year is sticking together as a team and just being positive,”  Brucci said.

Brucci shot 17 points which helped secure the Knight’s win but it was not just Brucci that contributed to the win.
Junior Michele Molini hit a key three-pointer late in the game. Also freshman Taylor Will made a baseline shot for the Knights to take the lead 41-40.

“We need it from the whole team not just from one girl,” Brucci said.

There was no point in the game for head coach Martha Kelly that she felt like the team was out of the game “a little luck down towards the end, a little Irish luck always helps.”
“Fatigue was not a concern, the girls play with too much heart to be worried about fatigue,” Kelly said.
