The Village of Mount Prospect celebrated a long-time regular board meeting attendee’s 88th birthday at the Committee of the Whole meeting on January 20.
To begin the meeting, Mayor Paul Hoefert addressed the audience with a special announcement. “It’s Louis’s birthday today, so we’re all going to sing happy birthday today,” Hoefert said.
He then led the board and the meeting’s attendees in a rendition of happy birthday to commemorate Mount Prospect resident Louis Goodman’s special day, and to thank him for taking on such an active role in the community.
In his 34 years of Mount Prospect residence, Goodman has had a continued interest in the happenings of the community; however, village hall was not always equipped with the facilities necessary to seat all residents interested in attending meetings. The 2004 construction of the new and expanded Mount Prospect Village Hall allowed for greater attendance and participation from business owners, concerned citizens, and community-members at large . Ever since then, Goodman has been a consistent and invested attendee.
Goodman said that he’s always been passionate about staying up to date on local issues and events in his town, and that it’s fantastic to have the opportunity to participate.
