This fall, Mount Prospect, Arlington Heights, and Chicagoland as a whole has been inundated with hundreds of federal immigration agents and militarized border patrol agents.
Operation Midway Blitz officially began September 8th in the Chicagoland area. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) claims that the operation’s goal is to arrest and deport scores of undocumented immigrants, despite violent videos and images of ICE detaining protestors and U.S citizens. “No American citizens have been arrested or detained,” said Noem, at an October 31st press conference.
This is not true: dozens of U.S citizens have been detained by ICE throughout the continuing Operation Midway Blitz.
This page will be updated with credible reports of ICE, border patrol, and other federal immigration enforcement in Mount Prospect and neighboring towns.
Updates will be posted according to verified alerts from the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights. ICIRR operates a text alert system to inform community members on ICE sightings. According to ICIRR’s website, notifications are only sent out when reports have been verified by a rapid response team.
You can report ICE activity to the ICIRR by calling 855-435-7693.
