Homecoming court and theme 2015

Homecoming+court+and+theme+2015

While students were planning their summer vacations last April, students in Student Council were busy brainstorming ideas for this year’s homecoming. Students had to think of a them and then had to present it to Student Council with an idea of how their theme would look. Student Council put it to a vote and decided on, “Around the World.”
“It’s a theme we’ve wanted for many, many years and it’s always lost by one or two, and this year it seemed to win out, so we think it’s gonna be kind of fun,” Student Council adviser Lyn Scolaro said.
Prospect’s five main hallways will be individually decorated like different continents. Each class board will be decorating their own hallway, and Knight’s Way will have their hallway.
The hallways will be the most decorated, the dance will only have a few decorations. Another way Prospect will be decorated is Student Council encourages teachers to decorate their doors going along with Around the World.
Students don’t have to dress for the theme; it’s a semi-formal dance. The music will also not go along with the theme, it will just be slow and fast.
Tickets will be sold in cafeteria and commons October 5-9 for $15. TIckets will also be sold at the door for $20.
Student Council has made an addition to Homecoming. This year in gyms and and one, there will be a lounge for students who want to take a break from the lights and music but don’t want to stand in the field house foyer. In one gym there will be Foosball tables, air hockey and video games. In the second gym they will have high top tables, lounge chairs and some music playing.
This addition to homecoming will help include the entire student body by having something for everyone according to Scolaro.
“This is one more layer to make homecoming available to everyone,” Scolaro said. “That’s the idea behind homecoming, homecoming is supposed to be uniting our school.”
