Students share summer highlights and back-to-school plans

Prospect held its annual Back-To-School night on Wednesday, Aug. 10. Students from every grade congregated to collect their school I.D.’s and celebrate the upcoming school year.
The night featured a zip line, hot dogs, a chance to buy new Underground shirts. The following four students attended the event and shared their thoughts on school starting.

Name: Caitlyn Kviz
Grade: Junior
Most interesting thing you did this summer?: I played violin for Guys and Dolls. It was fun because it was my first time playing in a musical.
Most excited for?: Getting new teachers. It’s more exciting because it’s not the normal stuff from last year.
Class you’re most excited for?: orchestra
Activities you hope to join or are in?: Symphony Orchestra
Biggest worry for this year?: I’m kind of worried about physics because everyone said it was hard.
Name: Julia Newford

Grade: Freshman
Most interesting thing you did this summer?: I helped my aunt after she had hip surgery. I felt good helping her.
Most excited for?: Getting iPads, being in high school and being able to be on my own and being able to see my fullest potential.
Class your most excited for?: Language arts
Activities you hope to join?: Water polo, swim and dive, acting and choir
Biggest worry for this year?: I took a summer school class so I kind of know the building already.
Name: Yusuf Genc

Grade: Freshman
Most interesting thing you did this summer?: I went on vacation and saw Biafra falls. We went around and visited a lot of areas.
Most excited for?: Meeting new people
Class your most excited for?: I like all my subjects – they’re all equal.
Activities you hope to join?: I think I might do wrestling, [and I] already go to activities outside of school.
Biggest worry for this year?: I’m also nervous for meeting new people – I’m both excited and nervous.

Grade: Senior
Most interesting thing you did this summer?: I went zip lining in the Smoky Mountains.
Most excited for?: I’m excited to go out with a bang.

Activities you hope to join or are already in?: Show choir, speech and the musicals
