School to select Homecoming king, queen

Prospect students will vote for Homecoming king and queen on Tuesday during second period classes. The winners will be announced Friday afternoon at the Coronation ceremony. The Homecoming court members include:
Emily Boldt has been a member of Service Club, Enviro Club, Knights’ Way, Principals Advisory, Speech Team, and Color Guard. Emily is an honor roll student and participated in the Habitat for Humanity this summer in Madison, Wisconsin. Emily plans to major in English literature and writing and hopes to study abroad. She is undecided as to which University she will attend. Her most memorable experience has been traveling to London to perform at Trafalgar Square and to participate in the New Year’s Day parade with the band.
Patrick Atwood is a member of the cross country, winter running, and volleyball teams. He is a member of KUNI, service club, the math team, Knights’ Way, LINK, principal’s advisory, and the literacy center. Among his accomplishments, he is a member of the National Honor Society, the Presidential Fitness Award, Presidential Academic Award and has done over 70 hours of community service. Patrick is a math/science tutor, he attends church retreats, St. Raymond mission trips, Camp Sunshine, and he is a member of the St. Raymond’s Parish Council. Patrick plans to attend Northwestern University or the University of Illinois to major in math or nuclear mechanical engineering. He most memorable experience at Prospect has been getting to meet all new people and get involved with tons of sports and clubs at Prospect.
Jennifer Collins has been a member of the Colorguard, French Club, and ROTC. Jennifer is the recipient of the community service ribbon. She has volunteered at lambs farm, packed food for the “Feed My Starving Children” organization and has solicited money for gifts for Marines. Jennifer plans to attend Harper first and then onto Northeastern to become a dietician. Her most memorable moment has been watching the fireworks at Knightimes with nearly the entire school congregated in the bleachers.
Afolabi George has been a member of the Wrestling, Math, and Chess teams as well as on the Ultimate Frisbee team. He is an honor roll student and is an altar server at St. Ceclia’s Catholic Church. Afolabi plans to attend Iowa State University and major in chemical engineering. Among his most memorable moments he remembers winning his first wrestling match in his junior year.
Maria Dolomas has been a member of the Prospect Pom Squad and is a LINK leader. She is a member of Italian Club and is on the yearbook staff. Maria plans to attend the University of Iowa and major in marketing. Her most memorable moment was during her freshman year in ISS when Mr.Judson was blocking the door so the class wouldn’t line up or leave before the bell. As he turned around, he accidentally elbowed Maria in the stomach which caused her to flip over the desk behind her 360 degrees. He claimed that her purse was too heavy which made her flip over. It was one of the funniest moments of her four years at Prospect.
Andrew Kutnick is a four semester honor roll student and a CEDA Northwest Volunteer. Andrew plans to attend Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and is undecided in his major. Among his most memorable experiences at Prospect, he is happy just being with his friends everyday.
Kelly Rose McAleer is a member of Round Table, Book Bites, Speech Team, Theatre Angels, and she is on the staff of the Prospector. Among her accomplishments, she isAssociate Editor in Chief on the Prospector, she received a third place journalism award for a Prospector review from the Illinois Women’s Press Association in 2009. During the spring and summer of 2009, she was a counselor at Camp Soar, a camp for disabled children. She plans to attend the University of Iowa to major in creative writing. Her most memorable experience has been meeting new people who have become her fantastic, zany friends.
Jason Manella is a member of LEAP, the track and football teams as well as Knights’ Way and Ultimate Frisbee. He received his varsity letter as a sophomore and contributes to CEDA, the US Postal Service Food Collection and to Special Olympics. Jason plans to major in civil engineering and us undecided as to which University he will attend. His most memorable experience at Prospect has been going to the state track meet and watching the team compete.
Jenna Milos has been a football and competition cheerleader for Prospect. Jenna is also a cheerleading coach for the Mount Prospect Cheerleading Club. She plans to attend Purdue University and pursue a career in vetinary medicine. Her most memorable experience at Prospect has been all the amazing times on cheerleading. She has truly loved each year and the people with whom she has become close to on the squad. Spending time with the squad always keeps her laughing and there is always something crazy going on.
Christopher Yousif has been involved in the fine arts department performing with mixed company, madrigals, vocal and jazz ensemble, and One Stop, the all-boys acapella group. He is a member of Knights’ Way, Speech Team, and the Theatre Angels. He has also performed in the fall plays as well as the spring musicals. Christopher plans to attend the Indiana University – Bloomington to study business marketing . His most memorable experience as been when mixed company made finals at FAME Chicago his junior year. It was the best surprise because none of the group thought they had made it.
