Season duel meet record: 9-2
Best tournament finish: 3rd out of 28 teams at the Plainfield South Tournament
Post-season results: The Knights finished 2nd in the MSL East to Hersey and 5th overall in the conference. The team took 2nd at regionals to Hersey to move on to the sectional meet, where they took 5th, just barely missing the state tournament.
Individual results: Sophomore Ari Upshaw took 12th at conference with a 186.35 average while junior Cassidy Selep took 14th with a 182.51 average. Senior Sarah Gervais took 15th, only behind Selep by .12 points and senior Kendall Dawson had an 18th place finish with a 179.70 average. All four girls were name all-conference. At the regional meet, senior Monica Lopez took 5th with a 1173 score for six games and a high game of 267, which was the team’s highest game of the year. Upshaw also took 6th at sectionals with a 1199 score for six games, missing state by one pin.
Thoughts on this season: “I think it was a great season,” head coach Greg Troyer said. “Number one the kids had a lot of fun. We had great teamwork and comradery. They worked hard together, and that’s always how you base the end of the season on.”
Highlight of the season: “Placing second at regionals,” Dawson said. “Last year we didn’t pass it and it was a total confidence boost knowing we had one more shot to keep the season going.”
Goals for next year: “Our realistic goals are to be really competitive in conference, to be up near the top and to advance from regionals to sectionals,” Troyer said.
